Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a bowl, cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the egg yolk and vanilla extract, and mix until combined.
  • Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing until a dough forms.
  • Shape the dough into a log and chill in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
  • Slice the log into 1/4-inch thick cookies and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  • Allow to cool before serving.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. For longer storage, freeze them in a freezer-safe bag or container for up to three months. Customization options include adding chocolate chips, nuts, or dried fruits for a unique twist.
