Ingredients

  • 4 fish fillets any firm white fish like cod or haddock
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice about 2 lemons
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley chopped for garnish

Instructions

  • Prepare the Fish: Pat the fish fillets dry with a paper towel and season both sides with salt and black pepper.
  • Heat the Oil: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
  • Sear the Fish: Add the fish fillets to the skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Once done, transfer them to a plate and cover to keep warm.
  • Make the Sauce: In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the butter. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Add Cream and Lemon Juice: Slowly stir in the heavy cream and lemon juice. Allow the sauce to simmer for about 2 minutes until slightly thickened.
  • Combine: Return the fish to the skillet and spoon the sauce over the top. Cook for another minute until everything is heated through.
