Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar using an electric mixer until light and fluffy (about 5 minutes).
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated before adding the next.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the butter and sugar mixture, alternating with the freshly squeezed orange juice.
  • Stir in the orange zest and vanilla extract.
  • Transfer the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.

Baking

  • Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Cooling

  • Once baked, let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
