  • 2 packs instant ramen noodles (without the seasoning packets) Choose your favorite brand or type.
  • 4 cups water or vegetable broth Use homemade or high-quality store-bought broth for the best flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce or tamari Use tamari for gluten-free option.
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil Adds depth of flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon miso paste (optional) Enhances umami flavor.

Optional Toppings

  • sliced green onions For garnish.
  • soft-boiled eggs Adds protein and richness.
  • sautéed vegetables Use any seasonal vegetables you prefer.

Preparation

  • In a medium saucepan, bring the water or vegetable broth to a boil.
  • Once boiling, add the ramen noodles and cook according to package instructions, about 3-4 minutes.
  • After the noodles are tender, reduce the heat and add in the soy sauce, sesame oil, and miso paste (if using). Stir well to incorporate the flavors.

Serving

  • Stir in your choice of additional toppings—fresh vegetables or a soft-boiled egg, and mix them in to warm through.
  • Ladle the noodles and broth into bowls. Top with sliced green onions, seaweed, or any other toppings you desire.
  • Serve hot and enjoy your amazing homemade ramen!

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Noodles will absorb the broth over time, so add a splash of water when reheating.
