  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup eggnog
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup Halal-friendly white chocolate or crushed nuts (optional for topping) Customize with toppings as desired.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg. Set aside.
  • In a separate mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the egg, eggnog, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  • Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined—do not overmix!
  • Spread the batter evenly in the prepared baking dish.

Baking

  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, with a few moist crumbs.
  • Allow to cool completely before cutting into squares and topping as desired.

Notes

For best results, ensure butter is softened but not melted. Refrigerate the dough for 30 minutes before baking for improved texture. Store leftovers in an airtight container.
