  • 1 box yellow cake mix Choose a standard size box.
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted Ensure it's fully melted for even mixing.
  • 1 cup brown sugar Packed for the best results.
  • 1 cup corn syrup Light or dark corn syrup can be used.
  • 4 large eggs Room temperature.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract For enhanced flavor.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  • Evenly sprinkle the chopped pecans at the bottom of the dish.

Mixing and Baking

  • In a large bowl, combine the melted butter, brown sugar, corn syrup, eggs, and vanilla. Whisk until well blended.
  • Carefully pour the filling mixture over the pecans in the baking dish, making sure to cover them evenly.
  • Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix over the filling without stirring.
  • Place in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
  • Allow the cake to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Store in the refrigerator for up to 4 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.
