Cuisine American
- 1 box vanilla cake mix plus ingredients as required
- 1 cup hot water
- 1 cup strawberry
- 2 cups fresh strawberries chopped
- 1 cup whipped topping
- 1 cup crushed cookies like vanilla wafers or graham crackers
Prepare the Cake: Preheat your oven according to the directions on the box of your vanilla cake mix. Prepare the cake batter as instructed and pour it into a greased 9×13 pan. Bake until golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Poke Holes: When the cake is done baking, remove it from the oven and use the handle of a wooden spoon (or any similar kitchen tool) to gently poke holes all over the top of the cake—about 20 holes will do.
Make the mixture: In a separate bowl, mix the strawberry with 1 cup of hot water until dissolved. Pour this mixture evenly over the poked cake.
Add Strawberries: Sprinkle the chopped strawberries over the top of the cake, ensuring they fill in the holes for maximum flavor.
Cool Down: Allow the cake to cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours to let the flavors meld together and the cake set.
Top It Off: Once chilled, spread the whipped topping over the cake's surface, then sprinkle crushed cookies on top for that beautiful crunch.
Serve and Enjoy: Slice into squares and serve.
