  • 1 cup sliced strawberries (fresh or frozen)

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with non-stick spray or butter.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the softened cream cheese and granulated sugar until smooth.
  • Spread the cream cheese mixture across the bottom of the greased baking dish.
  • Layer the sliced strawberries evenly over the cream cheese mixture.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the yellow cake mix, melted butter, vanilla extract, and water. Mix until just combined.
  • Pour the cake mixture evenly over the layer of strawberries, ensuring that it covers them completely.

Baking

  • Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 45 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Allow the cake to cool slightly before cutting into squares. Serve with a dollop of whipped cream if desired.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months. Reheat slices in the microwave for about 30 seconds.
