Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 0.5 cups granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cups brown sugar, packed

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 large egg
  • 0.5 cups milk
  • 0.5 cups vegetable oil

Main Ingredient

  • 1 cups ripe pears, peeled and diced

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a muffin tin with liners or spray it with non-stick cooking spray.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until well combined.
  • In a separate bowl, beat the egg, then add the milk and vegetable oil. Stir until blended.

Mixing Batter

  • Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients. Mix gently until just combined; it’s okay if the batter is a bit lumpy.
  • Fold in the diced pears carefully, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.

Baking

  • Using a scoop or spoon, fill each muffin cup about ¾ full with the batter.
  • Bake for 18 to 20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Allow the muffins to cool in the pan for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack. Enjoy warm or at room temperature.

Notes

For best results, use ripe pears for maximum flavor, avoid overmixing the batter, and consider adding nuts or chocolate chips for variation. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 days or freeze for later enjoyment.
