Cooking Steps

  • Start by placing the boneless, skinless chicken breasts at the bottom of the slow cooker.
  • In a separate bowl, mix together cream of chicken soup, chicken broth, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Pour this mixture over the chicken, ensuring it is well-coated.
  • Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
  • About 30 minutes before serving, add the fresh broccoli florets to the slow cooker.
  • When everything is cooked through and tender, shred the chicken using two forks and mix everything gently to combine.
  • If desired, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top and let it melt before serving.
  • Serve warm over cooked rice.

Notes

For a lighter version, substitute Greek yogurt for some of the cream of chicken soup. Don’t forget to season your chicken for better flavor.
