Asparagus Preparation

  • 1 pound asparagus, trimmed Fresh asparagus, preferably thick stalks for better crunch.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil Extra virgin olive oil recommended for flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon salt Adjust to taste.
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper Freshly ground is preferred.
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese Can be substituted with other cheeses.

Turkey Addition

  • 1 pound turkey strips, cooked and seasoned as desired Use pre-cooked or leftover turkey for quicker prep.

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Rinse the asparagus under cold water, trim the tough ends, and pat dry.
  • In a large bowl, drizzle asparagus with olive oil, and sprinkle with salt and black pepper. Toss to coat.
  • Spread asparagus in a single layer on a baking sheet.
  • Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the asparagus.
  • Scatter cooked turkey strips over the asparagus.

Cooking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes, or until the asparagus is tender and lightly browned.
  • Serve warm and enjoy the flavors!

Notes

For vegetable substitutions, green beans or broccoli can be used instead of asparagus. If you prefer crispier asparagus, roast longer but avoid overcooking. Leftovers can be stored for up to 3 days in an airtight container or frozen for up to 2 months. Reheat in a preheated oven at 350°F for best texture.
