Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 can (20 oz) crushed pineapple, undrained
  • 1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling
  • 1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted 1 stick
  • 1 cup chopped nuts optional for added crunch

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Prepare your baking dish: Spray a 9×13-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray for easy cleanup.
  • Layer Ingredients: Pour the undrained crushed pineapple into the bottom of the prepared dish, spreading it evenly. Then, add the cherry pie filling, drizzling it over the pineapple.
  • Add the cake mix: Evenly sprinkle the yellow cake mix over the fruit layer, ensuring a complete coverage without mixing it in.
  • Melt the butter: Drizzle the melted butter over the cake mix. If you’re using nuts, sprinkle them on top for some added crunch!

Baking

  • Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the fruit is bubbly.

Serving

  • Allow it to cool for a few minutes, then serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream on top!

Notes

Best served warm. Store leftovers in the refrigerator, covered tightly, for up to 3-4 days. Can freeze individual portions for longer storage.
