  • 1 tablespoon 1 tablespoon granulated sugar Plus extra for sprinkling on top.
  • 1 teaspoon 1 teaspoon cinnamon For flavoring the peach filling.

  • 1 egg 1 egg, beaten For egg wash, optional.
  • a pinch A pinch of salt

Peach Filling

  • 2-3 pieces 2-3 ripe peaches, sliced Choose ripe peaches for best flavor.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat Your Oven: Start by preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C). This way, your galette will bake to golden perfection!
  • Prepare the Filling: In a large bowl, toss the sliced peaches with sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt. Let it sit for about 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  • Roll Out the Crust: If you’re using a pre-made pie crust, roll it out on a lightly floured surface to about 12 inches in diameter. If making your own, roll it out to the same size.

Assembly and Baking

  • Transfer the rolled-out crust to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Spoon the peach filling into the center, leaving a 2-inch border all around.
  • Fold the edges of the crust over the peaches, pleating it nicely to create a rustic look.
  • Brush the edges of the crust with the beaten egg, if using, and sprinkle extra sugar over the crust and filling.
  • Place the galette in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.
  • Allow the galette to cool for 10-15 minutes before slicing. Serve warm, preferably with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream!

Notes

Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in microwave or oven before serving.
