  • 2 medium Tomatoes, sliced thickly
  • ½ cup Fresh Basil Leaves, washed and dried
  • ½ cup Basil Pesto (store-bought or homemade)
  • 2 large loaves Ciabatta Bread (or your bread of choice)
  • to taste Olive Oil, for drizzling

Preparation

  • Slice the ciabatta loaves horizontally to create a top and bottom for each sandwich.
  • Apply a generous layer of basil pesto onto the bottom half of each ciabatta loaf.
  • Start layering with slices of fresh mozzarella, followed by the tomato slices, and finish with bright green basil leaves.
  • Lightly season with salt and pepper to enhance the flavors.
  • Add a drizzle of olive oil over the top for added richness.
  • Place the top half of the ciabatta loaf back on.
  • Gently press down the sandwich, then slice it in half.

Notes

For best results, use the freshest ingredients. Feel free to experiment with different types of bread or add nuts to the pesto for a unique flavor.
