Cuisine American
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 small onion finely chopped
- 1/2 cup bell pepper finely chopped
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- salt and pepper to taste
- 4 burger buns
Sauté the Vegetables: In a large skillet over medium heat, add a little oil and sauté the chopped onion and bell pepper for about 3-4 minutes, or until they're soft.
Brown the Beef: Add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until browned. Make sure to break up the meat with a spatula as it cooks.
Mix in the Sauce: Stir in the ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Reduce the heat to low and allow it to simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Toast the Buns (optional): If you like a little crunch, you can toast your burger buns on another skillet for a minute or two.
Serve: Spoon the Sloppy Joe mixture onto the bottom half of each bun. Top with the other half and enjoy while it's warm!
