Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
  • Cut the cold butter into the flour mixture using a pastry cutter or your fingertips until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Gradually add the milk, stirring just until the dough comes together.
  • Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface, gently knead it a few times, and pat it out to about 1-inch thickness.

Baking

  • Use a biscuit cutter to cut out the biscuits and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes until golden brown on top.
