Ingredients
  

For the berry filling

  • 4 cups Frozen Mixed Berries (such as blueberries, raspberries, and strawberries) No need to thaw
  • 1 tablespoon Granulated Sugar

For the cobbler topping

  • cup Granulated Sugar To balance tartness of berries
  • 1 cup All-Purpose Flour For the topping
  • 1.5 teaspoons Baking Powder Ensures a lovely rise
  • ½ teaspoon Salt Balances sweetness
  • 1 cup Milk Helps to bind the batter
  • ½ cup Unsalted Butter, melted and cooled Use halal butter if needed
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract For added flavor

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the frozen mixed berries with 1 tablespoon of sugar and allow this mixture to sit.

Making the Cobbler Topping

  • In another bowl, mix together the flour, the remaining sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • Pour in the milk and melted butter, stirring until just combined.

Assembling and Baking

  • Pour the berry mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  • Spoon the cobbler batter over the berries, leaving some rustic spaces.
  • Bake for about 25-30 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Let the cobbler cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Substitutions: Feel free to swap mixed berries for any favorite fruit such as peaches or cherries. Timing: If the cobbler starts browning too quickly, cover it loosely with aluminum foil. Avoid overmixing the batter to keep the topping light and fluffy.
