Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) so it’s nice and toasty when your casserole is ready to bake.
  • Peel the potatoes and slice them into thin rounds. The thinner the slices, the more tender they’ll become during baking.

Sauce Mixture

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, milk, butter, onion powder, and garlic powder. Whisk until well combined.

Layering

  • In a greased baking dish, start layering your potatoes. Begin with a layer of sliced potatoes, then pour a portion of the sauce over them. Sprinkle some cheddar cheese on top. Repeat this process until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of cheese on top.

Baking

  • Don’t forget to sprinkle salt and pepper over the layers to enhance the flavors.
  • Cover the casserole with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes. Afterward, remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 15-20 minutes or until bubbly and golden brown.
