Preparation

  • Start by lining a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips. Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth and fully melted.
  • Pour the melted chocolate onto the prepared baking sheet and spread it into an even layer, about ¼ inch thick.
  • In another microwave-safe bowl, melt the caramel bits according to package directions until smooth.
  • Gently drizzle the melted caramel over the chocolate layer, creating a fun and swirly pattern.
  • Chop the apple into small pieces and sprinkle it evenly over the caramel layer. Add crushed nuts or candy pieces if desired, then sprinkle lightly with sea salt.
  • Place the baking sheet in the fridge for 20-30 minutes or until set. Once firm, break the bark into pieces and store in an airtight container.

Notes

Store the bark in an airtight container at room temperature for a week or in the fridge for up to two weeks.
