  • 1 can crushed pineapple (20 oz, drained)
  • 1 box vanilla cake mix (15.25 oz, Halal-certified) Ensure it's Halal-certified

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease a baking pan, either an 8x8 inch square or 9x13 inch rectangular, with a bit of oil or non-stick spray.
  • In a large mixing bowl, pour in the drained crushed pineapple and then slowly add the vanilla cake mix. Stir until combined without over-mixing.

Baking

  • Pour the batter into your prepared baking dish and smooth the top gently with a spatula.
  • Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 25-30 minutes until the edges are lightly golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Cooling and Serving

  • Let the cake cool in the pan for about 10-15 minutes before serving.
  • Cut into squares and serve as-is or add your choice of toppings.

Notes

For different flavors, swap the vanilla cake mix for lemon or orange. Top the cake with whipped cream or fresh fruit slices for an extra treat. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days or freeze (wrapped tightly) for up to 3 months. Thaw overnight in the refrigerator or reheat at low temperature in the oven.
