Ingredients
  

For the crust

  • 2 cups crushed pretzels Use unsalted pretzels for best results.
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar

For the cream cheese layer

  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 8 ounces whipped topping (like Cool Whip)

For the topping

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced Ensure strawberries are ripe.
  • 2 cups strawberry gel Make sure it’s Halal.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the crushed pretzels, melted butter, and sugar. Stir until fully combined, then press the mixture evenly into the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  • Bake for 10 minutes, then remove from oven and allow to cool.

Cream Cheese Layer

  • In a separate bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese and sugar until smooth.
  • Fold in the whipped topping until completely blended.
  • Spread this mixture over the cooled pretzel crust.

Add Strawberry Layer

  • Evenly layer the fresh sliced strawberries over the cream cheese layer.
  • Pour the strawberry gel over the strawberries, using a spatula to ensure everything is well-distributed.

Chill and Serve

  • Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until set.
  • Cut into squares and serve chilled.

Notes

Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 4-5 days. Add the strawberry gel layer just before serving to maintain freshness. This dish does not freeze well.
