Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the eggs, one at a time, fully incorporating them after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  • Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop dollops of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving space for spreading.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden and center remains soft.
  • Remove from oven and let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For perfect cookies, ensure the butter is at room temperature, measure flour correctly, and consider chilling the dough for about 30 minutes before scooping.
