  • 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce (your choice of flavor)
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • Optional: sliced onions for extra flavor

Preparation

  • Rinse the chicken breasts under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Trim any excess fat and place them in the crockpot.
  • Sprinkle garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper evenly over the chicken.
  • Pour the BBQ sauce evenly over the seasoned chicken, making sure each piece is well-coated.

Cooking

  • Cover the crockpot and set it to low for 6–8 hours or high for 3–4 hours.
  • Once cooked, remove the chicken from the crockpot and shred it using two forks. Mix it back with the remaining sauce in the crockpot for added flavor, then serve hot!

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat in the microwave or on the stovetop with a splash of BBQ sauce to maintain juiciness.
