  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup buttermilk (or milk with a splash of vinegar)
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter (plus extra for waffle iron)

  • 1 cup fresh blueberries

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Lightly grease it with melted butter.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Stir well.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, egg, and melted butter until smooth.

  • Gently fold in the fresh blueberries.

Cooking

  • Pour the batter onto the heated waffle iron and cook until golden and crispy, around 5 minutes.
