Ingredients

For the Bites

  • 1 cup dill pickles (sliced or whole, depending on preference) Opt for crunchy dill pickles for the best texture.
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella) Feel free to mix cheeses for a deeper flavor profile.
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko or regular)
  • 2 large eggs Whisk until well-combined.
  • to taste Salt and pepper Use for seasoning the flour mixture.
  • as needed for frying Cooking oil Heat oil for frying until hot.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Set out three shallow bowls. In the first bowl, place the flour with a sprinkle of salt and pepper.
  • In the second bowl, whisk the eggs until they are well-combined.
  • In the third bowl, add the breadcrumbs.

Coating and Frying

  • Take each pickle slice (or whole pickle) and coat it in the flour mixture, ensuring it's fully covered.
  • Dip the floured pickle into the egg mixture, allowing any excess to drip off.
  • Dredge it in the breadcrumbs until fully coated. Repeat this until all the pickle slices are prepared.
  • Heat oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, fry the coated pickles for about 2-3 minutes on each side until they are golden brown.
  • Remove the pickles and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  • Serve them warm alongside your favorite dipping sauce!
