Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 pound mozzarella cheese, cut into sticks (about 1/2-inch thick)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably Italian style)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Vegetable oil for frying Make sure it's heated to about 350°F

Instructions

Preparation

  • Ensure that your mozzarella sticks are cut evenly to ensure a consistent cooking time.
  • In three shallow bowls, place flour in one, beat the eggs in the second, and mix breadcrumbs with garlic powder, onion powder, and salt in the third.
  • Take each mozzarella stick, dip it into the flour, shaking off any excess. Then coat it in the beaten eggs, followed by rolling it in the breadcrumb mixture. Make sure they are well coated for the perfect crispy texture!
  • Place the coated sticks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and chill them in the freezer for about 15-20 minutes to help them hold their shape while frying.

Cooking

  • In a deep pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat (approximately 350°F).
  • Once the oil is hot, carefully add a few mozzarella sticks at a time, frying until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  • Remove them from the oil and drain on paper towels to absorb any excess oil before serving.

Notes

Serve with homemade marinara sauce, ranch dressing, spicy ketchup, or creamy garlic sauce. Freeze uncooked sticks for later use.
