Ingredients

For the broccoli

  • 1 pound fresh broccoli florets Cut into bite-sized pieces

For seasoning

  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • a pinch red pepper flakes Optional for added heat

Instructions

Preparation

  • Wash and cut the broccoli into bite-sized florets. Pat them dry with a towel to help achieve crispiness.
  • In a large bowl, combine the broccoli with olive oil, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Toss until evenly coated.

Cooking

  • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
  • Place the seasoned broccoli florets in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook for about 10-12 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.
  • Check to ensure the broccoli is tender with crispy edges. If preferred, you can air fry for an additional minute or two for extra crunch.

Serving

  • Once cooked, remove the broccoli from the air fryer and serve immediately as a side dish or a healthy snack.

Notes

To enhance the crunch, avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket. You can also add spices like lemon zest or Parmesan cheese for additional flavor. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days and reheat in the air fryer to regain crunchiness.
