Ingredients
  

For the Coating

  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder

For the Mushrooms

  • 1 lb oyster mushrooms Cleaned and sliced
  • 1/2 cup plant-based milk For dipping
  • 2-3 cups oil For frying

Preparation

  • Clean and slice the oyster mushrooms.
  • In a bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  • Dip the mushrooms into plant-based milk, then coat them in the flour mixture.

Cooking

  • Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
  • Fry the coated mushrooms until golden brown and crispy.
  • Drain on paper towels and serve warm.

Notes

Best enjoyed hot. Can be served as a snack, appetizer, or added to a sandwich. Pairs well with dipping sauces or tossed in a salad. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 2-3 days. Reheat in the oven to regain crispiness.
