  • 1 medium green cabbage Opt for a firm, fresh cabbage.
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil For roasting.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • to taste Salt For seasoning.
  • to taste Pepper For seasoning.

Optional Toppings

  • to taste Parmesan cheese For added flavor.
  • to taste balsamic glaze For drizzling.

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Remove any outer leaves from the cabbage. Stand it upright and slice it into 1-inch thick steaks.
  • In a large bowl, combine olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Toss the cabbage steaks in the mixture until coated.

Cooking

  • Place the seasoned cabbage steaks on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Roast in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, until golden brown and crispy around the edges.
  • Remove from oven and let cool slightly, then top with optional ingredients as desired.

Serving

  • Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. For reheating, place them in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 10-15 minutes. They can also be frozen, but wrap them well.
