Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 pounds chicken wings
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Dry Rub Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper adjust to taste
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). This high temperature will help achieve that crispy skin you desire.
  • Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels. Ensuring they are dry is crucial for crispiness.
  • In a bowl, combine the garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to combine the spices thoroughly.
  • In a large bowl, drizzle the olive oil over the chicken wings, then sprinkle the dry rub mixture on top. Toss until evenly coated.

Baking

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easy cleanup. Lay the chicken wings out in a single layer on the sheet, leaving space between each wing.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the wings are crispy and the internal temperature reaches at least 165°F (74°C).
  • Once baked to perfection, remove the wings from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. Serve them hot with your choice of dipping sauce, or enjoy them plain!

Notes

For extra crispiness, make sure to dry the wings thoroughly before seasoning. Experimenting with spices can add a personal touch to the flavor. Consider using an air fryer for even crispier wings, adjusting the cooking time as needed. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to four days and reheated in the oven.
