Equipment

  • Large mixing bowl
  • Cutting board and knife
  • Skillet or deep fryer
  • Tongs
  • Salad spinner (optional)
  • Small whisk (for dressing)
  • Serving plates or bowls

Ingredients
  

  • For the Chicken:
  • 2 large chicken breasts sliced into strips
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • For the Salad:
  • 6 cups mixed greens romaine, spinach, and arugula
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes halved
  • 1 cup cucumber slices
  • ½ cup shredded carrots
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese or cheese of choice
  • ¼ cup red onion thinly sliced (optional)
  • For the Dressing:
  • ½ cup ranch or honey mustard dressing
  • Optional: Add 1 tablespoon lemon juice or hot sauce for extra zest.

Instructions
 

  • Season and bread chicken strips.
  • Fry chicken until golden and crispy.
  • Combine salad greens and vegetables in a bowl.
  • Add cheese and optional toppings.
