Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 medium head cabbage
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice) Gruyère or mozzarella can also be used
  • Optional: garlic powder, paprika, or herbs for seasoning

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Remove the outer leaves of the cabbage and cut it into thick slices, about 1-inch thick. You may get about 4-6 steaks depending on the head's size.
  • Place cabbage steaks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Drizzle with olive oil, then sprinkle salt, pepper, and any optional seasonings like garlic powder or paprika for added flavor.

Cooking

  • Bake for about 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  • In the final 5 minutes, sprinkle shredded cheese on top and return to the oven until the cheese melts and is bubbly.

Serving

  • Once done, remove from the oven, let them cool for a couple of minutes, and then enjoy while hot!

Notes

Use enough space between each steak on the baking sheet to ensure crispiness. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10-15 minutes.
