Crescent Roll Apple Dumplings are an easy, comforting dessert that combines buttery crescent rolls, tender apples, and a sweet cinnamon-sugar sauce. The recipe comes together quickly and is perfect for any occasion, from weeknight treats to festive gatherings. Pair it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for an irresistible dessert!

Ingredients

  • 2 8-ounce cans crescent roll dough
  • 2 large apples Granny Smith or Honeycrisp, peeled, cored, and sliced into 8 wedges each
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg optional
  • 1 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup lemon-lime soda e.g., Sprite or 7-Up

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Prepare the Crescent Rolls
  • Unroll the crescent dough and separate it into triangles. Place one apple wedge at the wide end of each triangle, then roll it up tightly, enclosing the apple.
  • Arrange in the Baking Dish
  • Place the rolled apple dumplings in the prepared baking dish, leaving a little space between each.
  • Make the Sauce
  • In a mixing bowl, combine melted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth, then pour the mixture evenly over the dumplings.
  • Add Soda
  • Pour the lemon-lime soda around the edges of the dish (not over the dumplings). This will create a bubbly, caramel-like sauce as it bakes.
  • Bake
  • Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the dumplings are golden brown and the sauce is bubbling.
  • Serve
  • Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of caramel sauce for the ultimate treat.
