  • 4 cups water or milk Your choice of liquid
  • 1-2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup To taste

Preparation

  • Rinse the millet under cold water to remove any dust or impurities.
  • In a saucepan, combine the rinsed millet and water (or milk) along with a pinch of salt. Bring it to a boil over medium-high heat.
  • Lower the heat and let it simmer gently for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the millet absorbs most of the liquid and becomes tender.
  • Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and honey or maple syrup until well combined.
  • Serve the creamy porridge in bowls and add your favorite toppings.

Notes

Rinse millet before cooking for better flavor. Adjust consistency by adding more liquid if needed.
