Ingredients

Main ingredients

  • 8 oz pasta (e.g., penne or bowtie)
  • 1 can tuna, drained (5 oz)
  • 1/2 cup pesto sauce Use your favorite brand or homemade
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream Can substitute with Greek yogurt for a lighter version
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Start by boiling water in a large pot. Add in your choice of pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente (typically 8-10 minutes). Remember to add a pinch of salt to the boiling water for flavor!
  • In a skillet, combine the pesto sauce with heavy cream over medium heat. Stir frequently to ensure it combines well without curdling.
  • Once the pasta is cooked and drained, add it directly to your skillet. Then, gently fold in the drained tuna and grated Parmesan cheese. Mix until everything is coated in the creamy sauce.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste, adjusting according to your preference.
  • Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil for that extra touch. Enjoy your spectacular meal!

Notes

To store, allow it to cool completely before transferring to an airtight container. Can last in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for about 1 month. Reheat in a skillet over low heat, adding a splash of water or cream.
