Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups cheese tortellini fresh or frozen
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup chicken or vegetable broth
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Grease the inside of your slow cooker lightly with cooking spray or olive oil.
  • In the slow cooker, combine the cheese tortellini, heavy cream, chicken or vegetable broth, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning.
  • Stir everything to ensure that the tortellini is evenly coated with the cream mixture.

Cooking

  • Cover the slow cooker and set it to low for 3-4 hours or high for 1.5-2 hours until the tortellini are tender and the sauce has thickened slightly.
  • About 15 minutes before serving, stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until it melts seamlessly into the sauce.
  • Taste and adjust with salt and pepper as needed.

Serving

  • Once everything is well-mixed and creamy, garnish with chopped fresh parsley if you like. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

For ingredient substitutions, switch up the tortellini for other stuffed pastas like ravioli. Use low-fat cream for a lighter version without sacrificing too much creaminess. Allow the tortellini to cook thoroughly for the best texture.
