Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients

  • 12 ounces fresh or frozen cranberries Ensure cranberries are not sweetened if using frozen.
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup honey Adjust according to desired sweetness.
  • 1 unit orange, zested and juiced
  • a pinch salt Optional.

Preparation

  • In a medium saucepan, bring the water to a boil.
  • Add the cranberries and reduce the heat to medium.
  • Cook the cranberries for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they begin to burst and soften.

Adding Ingredients

  • Stir in the honey, orange juice, and orange zest.
  • Add a pinch of salt if desired.

Cooking

  • Let the mixture simmer for another 5-10 minutes, until it thickens to your desired consistency.

Cooling and Serving

  • Remove from heat and allow the sauce to cool to room temperature before serving.
  • The sauce will thicken further as it cools.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week. Reheat gently on the stovetop or in the microwave.
