Ingredients

Pasta Ingredients

  • 8 oz pasta (spaghetti or your choice)

Sauce Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons miso paste
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup vegetable broth
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar

Garnishes

  • 1 tablespoon green onions, chopped
  • Sesame seeds for garnish Add to taste

Instructions

Cooking the Pasta

  • Begin by boiling a large pot of salted water. Once boiling, add your pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving a bit of the pasta water.

Preparing the Sauce

  • In a bowl, whisk together the miso paste, soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, vegetable broth, and rice vinegar until combined.

Combining

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, add the sauce mixture. Let it warm for about 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld beautifully.
  • Add the drained pasta into the skillet with the sauce. Toss well to ensure the pasta is evenly coated.
  • If the sauce looks too thick, add a splash of reserved pasta water until you achieve your desired consistency.

Serving

  • Remove from heat and sprinkle chopped green onions and sesame seeds over the top. Serve warm, and watch your family devour it!

Notes

For variations, use whole wheat or gluten-free pasta and feel free to add proteins like grilled chicken or tofu. Taste while cooking to avoid overly salty flavors.
