  • 2 cups all-purpose flour For the naan base.
  • 1 cup cottage cheese Preferably plain.
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder Or use minced garlic for a stronger taste.
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder For rising.
  • to taste Salt Adjust according to preference.

  • optional Fresh parsley or cilantro For garnish.

Preparation of Dough

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, garlic powder, and salt. Mix well before adding the cottage cheese.
  • Gradually add water as needed and knead the mixture until a soft, pliable dough forms.
  • Cover it with a kitchen towel and let it rest for about 15-20 minutes.

Shaping the Naan

  • Once rested, take the dough and divide it into equal-sized balls (about the size of a golf ball).
  • Lightly flour your working surface and roll each ball into a flat, oval shape, roughly 1/4 inch thick.

Cooking the Naan

  • Heat a skillet or tava (frying pan) over medium-high heat.
  • Place the rolled naan on the hot skillet. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, then flip it over and cook for another minute or so until it gets brown spots.

Finishing Touches

  • Remove from the heat and brush it with melted butter or ghee.
  • Optionally, sprinkle with chopped parsley or cilantro for an aromatic finish.
  • Serve warm with your favorite curry or dip!

Notes

Knead the dough well for a fluffy texture. Experiment with spices for flavor variations.
