For the Pie

  • 1 each pre-made chocolate pie crust (9-inch)
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup whipped topping (like Cool Whip or similar)
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil (for melting the chocolate)
  • to taste optional crushed peanuts or shaved chocolate for garnish These are optional toppings.

Preparation

  • Prepare the crust by placing the pre-made chocolate pie crust on a pie dish. Set it aside.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese and creamy peanut butter. Beat with a hand mixer until smooth. Gradually add powdered sugar while continuing to mix until fully combined.
  • Gently fold in the whipped topping into the peanut butter mixture until it is well incorporated and fluffy.
  • Spread the filling evenly into the chocolate pie crust.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, combine semi-sweet chocolate chips with vegetable oil. Heat in short intervals (15-20 seconds), stirring in between until the mixture is smooth and fully melted.
  • Drizzle the melted chocolate over the peanut butter filling and spread it evenly if desired.
  • Cover the pie with plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours to allow it to set.
  • Once set, garnish with desired toppings, slice, and enjoy!

Notes

Make sure to check the ingredients for Halal certification if necessary. You can substitute creamy peanut butter with natural peanut butter and use a low-calorie sweetener instead of powdered sugar for a healthier option. Allow the pie to chill thoroughly for best texture.
