Cornbread Dressing

Equipment

  • Large mixing bowl
  • Skillet
  • Baking dish (9x13 inch)
  • Wooden spoon or spatula
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Ingredients
  

  • 4 –5 cups crumbled cornbread
  • 1 cup diced onion
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon dried sage
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 large eggs beaten
  • 2 –3 cups chicken or vegetable broth

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Crumble cornbread into a large bowl.
  • Sauté onion, celery, and garlic in butter until softened. Add to cornbread.
  • Mix in sage, thyme, pepper, eggs, and enough broth to moisten.
  • Transfer to a greased baking dish and bake for 30–40 minutes.
  • Serve warm and enjoy!
