Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 large large flour tortillas 2 per wrap
  • 1 pound ground beef or veggie protein Use your preferred protein
  • 1 packet taco seasoning Can use homemade seasoning
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce For filling
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes For filling
  • 1 cup shredded cheese Cheddar or your choice
  • 1 each tostadas 1 per wrap
  • 1/2 cup sour cream or a plant-based alternative For filling
  • to taste guacamole, salsa, or hot sauce Optional for added flavor

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef or veggie protein until fully browned. Drain any excess fat, then add the taco seasoning and water according to package instructions. Stir well and let it simmer for a few minutes until thickened.
  • Lay one large flour tortilla on a clean surface. Place a tostada in the center, followed by a scoop of the seasoned protein, around one-third of a cup of lettuce, a sprinkle of diced tomatoes, and a generous handful of shredded cheese on top.
  • Drizzle the sour cream (or plant-based alternative) onto the toppings. If desired, add your preferred spicy salsa or guacamole at this stage.
  • Gently fold the outer edges of the tortilla toward the center, creating pleats as you go, to form a hexagonal shape, enclosing all the delicious fillings securely.
  • In a skillet over medium heat, carefully place the wrap seam-side down. Cook for about 3-4 minutes, flipping halfway until both sides turn golden brown and crispy.
  • Once the wrap is crispy and golden, remove it from the skillet, cut it in half if desired, and serve it warm with extra guacamole, salsa, or your favorite toppings.

Notes

Tip: Feel free to mix and match your protein options! Ground turkey, shredded chicken, or even a plant-based protein can work just as well. If you want that extra crunch, consider using two tostadas inside your wrap instead of just one. You can prep your ingredients ahead of time and assemble the wraps, then just cook them fresh whenever you’re ready to eat. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days.
