Ingredients
  

Meat Filling

  • 500 g ground beef or lamb
  • 1 piece onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 pieces carrots, diced
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Pastry

  • 1 package puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 egg beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 200°C (390°F).
  • In a large skillet, heat some oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing until softened (about 2-3 minutes).
  • Add the ground beef or lamb, breaking it up with a spatula, and cook until browned.
  • Stir in the diced carrots and frozen peas. Cook for another 5 minutes.
  • Mix in the Worcestershire sauce, tomato sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper. Allow the filling to cool.

Assembly

  • Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface and cut out circles or squares, depending on your desired pie size.
  • Place the filling in the center of each pastry base, leaving enough space to seal.
  • Brush the edges with the beaten egg, place the top pastry over the filling, and crimp the edges with a fork to secure them.

Baking

  • Brush the tops of the pies with more egg wash for that beautiful golden color.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown.

Serving

  • Allow the pies to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy them warm with your favorite side!

Notes
