  • 4 pieces ripe pears Choose fresh, ripe pears for the best texture.
  • 1/2 cup ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup honey Plus more for drizzling.
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts Optional; can substitute with almonds or pecans.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Wash the pears and slice them in half lengthwise. Use a spoon or melon baller to scoop out the seeds and some of the flesh.

Making the filling

  • In a mixing bowl, combine ground cinnamon, honey, chopped walnuts (if using), vanilla extract, and lemon juice. Mix until you achieve a smooth paste.

Stuffing and baking

  • Generously fill each pear half with the cinnamon mixture, pressing it gently.
  • Place stuffed pears in a baking dish, cut sides up. Drizzle with honey and sprinkle more cinnamon if desired.
  • Bake for about 30 minutes, or until the pears are tender and golden brown.

Serving

  • Let the pears cool slightly before serving. They can be served warm or topped with yogurt or additional honey.

Notes

Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. To reheat, bake at 350°F for about 10 minutes. For freezing, place in a freezer-safe container for up to 2 months.
