Ingredients

Dough

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet instant yeast (2 ¼ teaspoons)
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup whole milk (warm)
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2 large eggs (beaten)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Filling

  • 1 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 3 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter (softened)

Cream Cheese Frosting

  • 4 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1-2 tablespoons milk (to achieve desired consistency)

Instructions

Prepare the Dough

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine 4 cups of all-purpose flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Create a well in the center. Add warm milk, melted butter, beaten eggs, and vanilla. Stir until combined.

Knead

  • On a floured surface, knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm spot for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

Make the Filling

  • In a separate bowl, mix the brown sugar and cinnamon. Roll out the dough into a rectangle, about ¼ inch thick. Spread the softened butter over the dough and sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly on top.

Roll and Slice

  • Starting from one long edge, carefully roll the dough into a log. Slice it into 12 equal rolls and place them in a greased baking dish.

Second Rise

  • Cover the dish and let the rolls rise for another 30 minutes, or until they puff up again.

Bake

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the tops are lightly golden.

Prepare the Frosting

  • While the rolls are baking, beat together cream cheese and butter until creamy. Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla, mixing until smooth. Add milk as needed for your desired consistency.

Top and Serve

  • Once baked, drizzle the frosting over the warm rolls. Serve them fresh and watch everyone’s eyes light up with joy!

Notes

For perfect rolls, allow the dough to rise properly and avoid overbaking. Refrigerate dough overnight for added flavor. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 5 days or freeze for 3 months.
