Preparation

  • Cut the bread into bite-sized pieces (about 1-2 inches) and set them aside.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until fully integrated.
  • Add the cut bread pieces into the egg mixture and ensure all the pieces are well-coated. Let them soak for about 5-10 minutes.

Cooking

  • In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
  • Carefully place the soaked bread pieces into the skillet. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crisp.
  • Once cooked, take the bites out and immediately roll them in granulated sugar.
  • Add your favorite toppings and serve warm.

Notes

Use day-old bread for better absorption of egg mixture. Experiment with spices like nutmeg for added flavor. Avoid high heat to prevent burning.
