Crust and Topping

  • 1 pre-made pie crust pre-made pie crust You can also make your own crust if preferred.
  • 1 piece egg (for egg wash) Beaten for brushing on the crust.
  • 1 tablespoon butter (for dotting) Dot on exposed apple filling for added richness.
  • For dusting as needed Flour To prevent sticking when rolling out the dough.

Preparation

  • Wash and slice the Honeycrisp apples. Toss them in a large bowl with lemon juice, sugar, and cinnamon until evenly coated, then set aside.

Preheat the Oven

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Rolling the Dough

  • Dust a work surface with flour and roll out the pre-made pie crust to about 12 inches in diameter. Place it onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.

Assemble the Galette

  • Arrange the cinnamon-sugared apples in the center of the rolled-out crust, leaving about a 2-inch border.
  • Gently fold the edges of the crust over the apples, creating a rustic appearance.

Finishing Touches

  • Beat the egg and brush it over the folded crust to give it shine. Dot the exposed apple filling with small pieces of butter.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until the crust is golden and the apples are soft.

Cooling and Serving

  • Allow the galette to cool slightly before slicing and serving warm with whipped cream or a scoop of ice cream if desired.

Notes

Store the galette in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To freeze, wrap tightly in plastic wrap and store for up to a month. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 10-15 minutes.
