  • 4 slices thick bread, preferably brioche or challah Thicker slices yield a better filling.
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 tablespoons sugar Divide into two parts for filling and egg mixture.
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon Reserve some for sprinkling later.
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened For the filling.
  • 1/4 cup chocolate caramel sauce For drizzling.
  • 1 tablespoon butter For cooking.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Gather all ingredients, slice bread thick, and soften cream cheese.

Mix the Filling

  • In a bowl, combine cream cheese with 1 tablespoon of sugar and a pinch of cinnamon until smooth.

Prepare the Egg Mixture

  • Whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and remaining sugar and cinnamon. Set aside.

Assemble the French Toast

  • Spread cream cheese mixture on one side of a slice of bread, top with another slice, and press together. Repeat for all slices.

Cook

  • Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Dip each sandwich into the egg mixture and cook until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes each side.

Serve

  • Dust cooked French toast with cinnamon sugar, drizzle with chocolate caramel sauce, and add toppings before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in a toaster oven or skillet. Can be frozen for up to 3 months.
