Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter Choose peanut butter without added sugars or oils.
  • 1 cup brown sugar Pack the brown sugar firmly.
  • 1 large egg At room temperature for better mixing.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Mix Wet Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine the creamy peanut butter and brown sugar until smooth and well-blended. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until fully incorporated.
  • Add Dry Ingredients: Sprinkle in the baking soda and sea salt, then fold in the semisweet chocolate chips with a spatula or wooden spoon.
  • Scoop the Dough: Using a tablespoon or cookie scoop, drop rounded balls of cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches between each ball.
  • Flatten Slightly: Gently press each cookie ball to flatten it just a bit. This helps them bake evenly.
  • Bake: Place the cookies in the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  • Cool: Remove from the oven and allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For nut allergies, consider using sun butter instead of peanut butter. To keep cookies fresh, store in an airtight container for up to five days or freeze with parchment paper between layers.
