Ingredients

Filling

  • 1 cup peanut butter or your choice of filling (cream cheese, chocolate ganache, etc.)
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Chocolate Coating

  • 2 cups chocolate chips (milk, dark, or white chocolate)
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional, for added shine)

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a medium bowl, mix together the peanut butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and well-combined.
  • Using your hands, form the filling into egg shapes and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Freeze for about 15-20 minutes until firm.

Chocolate Dipping

  • Melt the chocolate chips (and coconut oil if using) in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth.
  • Remove the eggs from the freezer and dip each egg into the melted chocolate, ensuring they are fully coated.
  • Let the excess chocolate drip off and place them back on the parchment paper.
  • Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or until the chocolate is set.

Serving

  • Serve your DIY Chocolate-Dipped Easter Eggs to family and friends or hide them around the house for a fun Easter egg hunt!

Notes

Experiment with different fillings like cookie dough or chocolate mousse. For a thicker chocolate coating, dip a second time after the first layer sets.
